Traditionally Huipil's are hand embroidered blouses that the Mayan women from Guatemala wear and each huipil representes a different Mayan village in Guatemala. It looks very much like a poncho when opened. When the women are done with the huipil it is recycled by turning them into purses to get more thread for a new huipil blouse.
The front of the purse you can see the neckline of the huipil and on the back of the purse along with the strap is made from the Guatemalan fabric used for the skirts that the Mayan women wear with their Huipil.
We also added some other purses that are made in Gutamala too, please take a look at them. I hope you like them too.
